Terms of Use

Established: September 23, 2026

This is an English translation of the Japanese original. If the two differ, the Japanese version prevails.

These Terms of Use (the “Terms”) set out the conditions for using the smartphone app “写真に顔印 (FaceSeal)” and its website (together, the “Service”), provided by END (@aiandrox) (the “Operator”).

Article 1 (Scope and Agreement)

These Terms apply to everyone who uses the Service (“Users”) and form the agreement between the Operator and Users regarding use of the Service. These Terms are shown in the app and on this website, and by using the Service, you are deemed to have agreed to them. How information is handled in the Service is governed by our separate Privacy Policy.

Article 2 (Changes to and Interruption of the Service)

The Operator continually improves the Service and may change, add, or remove its content or features without prior notice to Users. The Operator may also suspend the Service temporarily, or end it, for maintenance, outages, or other reasons.

Article 3 (Checking the Result)

The Service helps you hide faces in photos with icons and the like; it does not guarantee that every face will be hidden. Automatic face detection may miss faces shown in profile, small faces, or partly hidden faces. Before saving, sharing, or publishing a photo, Users must check for themselves that every face that should be hidden is hidden.

Article 4 (Rights to Photos and Images)

  1. Users shall use photos in the Service only if they own the rights to them or have obtained the necessary permission from the rights holders.
  2. Please be mindful of the likeness and privacy of the people in your photos, and get their consent where appropriate before sharing or publishing a photo.
  3. Rights to icon images fetched by social media handle belong to the account owner or other rights holders. The Operator does not grant any license to use those images; Users use them at their own responsibility and within limits that do not infringe the rights holders' rights.

Article 5 (Prohibited Conduct)

When using the Service, Users must not:

Article 6 (Intellectual Property)

Copyrights and other intellectual property rights in the Service belong to the Operator or the rightful rights holders. These Terms do not license the use of those rights beyond what is needed to use the Service. Rights to images Users create with the Service belong to the User, except for the rights of the holders of the original photos and the images used.

Article 7 (Disclaimer of Warranties)

The Operator does not warrant that the Service is free of defects, that it is fit for any particular purpose, or that face detection or icon fetching is accurate or complete.

Article 8 (Limitation of Liability)

  1. The Operator is not liable for damages incurred by Users through use of the Service unless the Operator acted intentionally or negligently.
  2. If a User incurs damages due to the Operator's intent or gross negligence, the Operator will compensate for those damages.
  3. If a User incurs damages due to the Operator's negligence (other than gross negligence), the Operator will compensate only for direct and ordinary damages actually incurred by the User.
  4. If a dispute arises with a third party from sharing or publishing an image a User created with the Service, the User shall resolve it at their own responsibility, unless it results from the Operator's intent or negligence.

Article 9 (Paid Plan)

  1. The app offers a paid feature available as a one-time in-app purchase (a non-consumable in-app purchase). Once purchased, ads are no longer shown in the app, and saved or shared images no longer carry a watermark. All other features are the same as in the free version.
  2. Payment is made through the App Store (or Google Play, if an Android version is offered), and prices are as shown in each store. The Operator does not receive payment information such as credit card numbers.
  3. Refunds after purchase are subject to each store's terms and procedures. The Operator cannot process refunds.
  4. If you change devices or reinstall the app, you can carry over your purchase with “Restore purchase” in the app, using the same store account you purchased with.
  5. If other paid plans such as subscriptions are added in the future, their terms, including price, payment method, and how to cancel, will be set out by amending these Terms or in separate terms at that time, with advance notice. Even then, rights Users obtained through the one-time purchase under this Article will not be lost.

Article 10 (Changes to These Terms)

The Operator may change these Terms without the individual consent of Users, in accordance with Article 548-4 of the Civil Code of Japan, if the change is in the general interest of Users, or if the change does not conflict with the purpose of these Terms and is reasonable in light of the need for the change, the appropriateness of the new content, and other circumstances. In that case, the Operator will announce in the app or on this website, before the effective date, that these Terms will change, along with the new content and the effective date.

Article 11 (Governing Law and Jurisdiction)

These Terms are governed by the laws of Japan. Any dispute between the Operator and a User regarding the Service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction, as the court of first instance, of the summary court or district court having jurisdiction over the Operator's address, depending on the amount in dispute.
